Member Updates

May 29, 2020

Dear Valued Mass Bay Members,

While we will continue to offer the remote options that so many of you have been using, we are excited to be working toward welcoming you back into our lobbies soon. Because our TOP PRIORITY is always the well-being of both our members and our staff, we have implemented numerous safety precautions for those who need to visit our branches.  These precautions follow government guidelines and are designed to protect us all.   Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience as we work toward providing you the best service in the safest manner.

We will continue with our current hours and availability in lobbies by appointment only through Saturday, June 13, 2020.

Beginning Monday, June 15th, our branch hours will be:

              Mon-Thurs      8:30 am- 4:00 pm

              Friday*            8:30 am - 6:00 pm

              Saturday        8:30 am - 1:15 pm

Includes lobby, ITM, drive-up and call center.

Please note the change in our late night from Thursday to Friday.

              * D Street lobby hours on Fridays: 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR LOCATIONS

  • We will greet you at the door as we must limit the number of people in the lobby.  Everyone will be logged in upon arrival (state ordinance)
  • We will ask that you wear a mask at all times unless asked to remove it briefly for identification purposes.  No hats, hoods, or sunglasses may be worn inside.
  • Gloves may not be worn in from the outside.  Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance and throughout the branch.
  • Barrier shields have been installed at all teller stations and Member area desks
  • Floor decals will indicate line/waiting spacing in the lobby area and at ATMs/ITMs
  • We continue to follow all state and city cleaning protocols

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Members should not enter if they are sick, have a fever or have been exposed to someone who is sick – symptomatic or not
  • Do not discard masks, gloves, or other PPE in open trash containers or on our branch property/parking lots
  • Please do not use your own products to sanitize equipment such as ATMs, ITMs, etc.  These are sensitive and expensive machines and can be severely damaged by sprays and excess moisture

We thank you again for your confidence in Mass Bay Credit Union!  We will continue to keep you informed of any developments that may impact branch activity on our website at massbaycu.org.

WE HAVE MANY WAYS TO HELP YOU BANK REMOTELY:

  • Online Banking and Mobile Banking – download the app on Google Play or the Apple App Store , if you have never enrolled in Online Banking please call us for access at 617-269-2700 option 1.
  • ATM Machines – In addition to the machines at our locations, you may access over 55,000 machines via the Allpoint Network
  • ITM Video Banking Machines – It’s like video chatting with your favorite teller.  Most teller line transactions can be completed via the ITM including depositing or cashing checks, withdrawals, loan payments and transferring funds.
  • Automated Telephone Banking – to check account balances, verify deposits and withdrawals, transfer funds, and more, call 617-269-2714.
  • Our Call Center – Representatives can assist with account questions, make transfers, or assist you with any of your banking needs at 617-269-2700 option 1.
  • Shared Branching Network – Since we are all encouraged to travel as little as possible, if you must visit a branch, I encourage you to do your Mass Bay Credit Union banking at the closest credit union to your home through one of our 5,000+ branch partners in the Shared Branching Network
  • Please note: Shared branching is not available at our locations at this time.  We hope to resume shared branching on July 6th.

A Letter From Our CEO

March 17, 2020

Dear Members,

As the situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, I wanted to let you know that our team is here to support you.  You entrust us with your financial needs and we are privileged to provide reliable access to the important services you count on.

Our primary focus through this unprecedented time is to continue to help our members to the best of our ability, while keeping both our employees and members safe.  Yesterday, Mass Bay Credit Union made 1,000, one thousand dollar loans available, for a total of $1,000,000 in zero interest rate loans, to help support our members and potential members.

In addition, we've waived the $35 fee on our Skip-a-Payment program. This program is available for eligible auto loans and personal loans. Please call our lending team for details at 617-269-2700 option 2.

While we continue to monitor the direction received by local, state and federal governments, as well as the Center for Disease Control and World Health Organizations, please take comfort in the fact that Mass Bay Credit Union has been serving the financial needs of our area since 1936, and despite the pandemic, we will continue to serve the evolving financial needs of our members.

Like most essential public serving organizations, we are doing everything we can to keep ourselves, our branches, our ATM’s and our ITM’s as sanitized as possible.  While we love seeing you at our branches normally, I am encouraging you to take advantage of our various electronic banking services as much as possible during this challenging time.

Times like these can cause a rise in financial scams.  Please be vigilant.  Remind any elders you may know not to share any personal or banking information with anyone that reaches out to them unexpectedly, even if they think they may know the person.

As always, Mass Bay Credit Union is here for your financial needs if and when you need us. Please continue to check this page for updates.

Sincerely,
Theresa Dorilas
President and CEO
